Raised by a single mom, she worked every odd job: delivered flowers, behind the counter at a post office, and a caregiver for the elderly. Even then, SNAP helped put dinner on the table. This bill ends food assistance for millions, each and everyone of them people like us, families like ours. In one of the richest countries in the world, it forces more people, families and children into hunger than any bill in history.
It will leave more than 12 million more Americans uninsured with deep cuts to Medicaid. That’s what my family leaned on when I was growing up so I could go to the doctors when I was sick or when I needed a physical to play sports in school. It’s also why I’m not in medical debt right now after my mom got a surprising skin cancer diagnosis last year.
The bill hands $ 100 billion to Trump to fund his inhumane immigration policy and ramp up his authoritarian goals, not to mention $50 billion for border militarization that directly impacts Arizona’s 7th Congressional District where I am running which includes hundreds of miles of the US- Mexico border. All the while, he’s making us pay for it.
It puts nearly 200 Planned Parenthood health centers in 24 states across the country at risk of closure. That's where I got the birth control I needed to take control of my body and my future as a teen with no money, no parents, and no insurance. That is true for millions of people across the country– and let’s be clear more than 90% of those closures would occur in states where abortion is protected and legal.
But here’s the upside: This can permanently give billionaires more tax cuts. But if you’re not a 1%er, then this isn't really for you. It’s the largest wealth transfer in history paid for by families like us to make Trump’s billionaire buddies richer.
That’s why we launched this new ad today. Because while the House just voted to rip those lifelines away from millions of Arizonans to line the pockets of billionaires– families like mine will live with the consequences. This is more than a policy debate to me, it's personal.
At a moment when public services and working families are under attack, Deja is ready to stand up and lead—because for her, it's personal.
Right now, Donald Trump and Elon Musk are attacking the same public services that she and so many others have relied on. This moment calls for more than a politician—our communities deserve a fighter.
Deja isn’t a politician, but she’s no stranger when it comes to fighting for our futures. At age 16, she went toe to toe with Republicans who voted in lockstep with the Trump Administration to defund Planned Parenthood. She’s spent over a decade organizing around economic opportunity, gun violence prevention, and reproductive freedom.
Now, she's running in Arizona's 7th Congressional District to take the fight to Congress and represent a new generation of progressive leaders ready to disrupt on day one.
PAID FOR BY FOXX FOR ARIZONA
I just voted early for DEJA. I believe we need a fighter who understands the affect this diabolical bill will do. It's personal for many Arizonans.
Clear, concise and truthful!
